Common Loon (source material)

from Flying Mobiles, for violin and electronics by David Adamczyk

/

about

(Gavia immer) a pair of loons in natural reverb engaged in a warbling duet, a rhythm is established and then falls apart. This repeats. Pure, sustained tones emerge in the form of a 'howl'----the same sounds are then heard by a captive bird, which escalates to a frantic falling/rising yell.
