Crow-sounds have a microscopic pitch-jitter that is impossible to physically replicate on the violin but can be approximated by tying a portion of rosined bowhair at the middle point between the bridge and the tailpiece and pulling with pinched fingers away from the knot to produce a rough, sustained friction resembling the birds in some ways and not others. These are then looped and played antiphonally in the performance space.
