about
(Turdus migratorius) The robin's intricate grammar and vast array of modes of sound production, changing with time of day, lends itself to being listened to at slower speeds to make out details beyond our perceptual capacities. Their calls are well-structured and sequenced in a dependency-chain that can be mapped. This was the first attempted transcription/notation produced in the composition of 'Flying Mobiles', an ongoing project (as of 2/20/15)
